Three simple guidelines can help to keep your child safe in a car with airbags:

  1. Never put a rear-facing child seat - usually those used for babies under one year or 20 pounds - in the front seat of a car.
  2. Make sure all children are buckled up no matter where they sit (fig.1).
  3. The rear seat is the safest place for children of any age to ride.
